Ardnamurchan Distillery turns TEN!
We are incredibly proud to announce that this summer marks a decade of us producing whisky!
We started distilling our new make spirit (after a couple of months of trialling) at the end of July 2014 and we filled our first cask a few days later on the 1st of August.
We have decided to mark the anniversary in a couple of different ways. We have celebrated our ten years as a team with social media posts from the distillery and alongside that first cask filled back in 2014, as well as through a live Q&A session on Instagram on the 31st of July (you can re-watch on our Instagram feed). However, more excitingly… we will have actual ten-year-old whisky in a bottle by the end of this week!
Our humble beginnings were as an independent bottler and that is why we have decided to bottle a single cask of Ardnamurchan Whisky from August 2014 as an Adelphi release. Not just any Adelphi release, but one to be launched at the Royal Mile Whisky Fringe this weekend. The whisky can only be sampled and/or purchased at the Whisky Fringe this weekend, but worry not! In addition to this Adelphi single cask, we have finalised a batch of Ardnamurchan 10 Year Old to be bottled and sold across the UK and our export markets, to be released towards the end of 2024. We aim to make enough for all, with our usual affordable retail price. More information on this will follow closer to the release date.
In the ten years we have been operating we have had our fair amount of challenges! We launched our first ever single malt in the middle of a global pandemic. Followed by new (Brexit) shipping regulations and procedures, not to mention major international conflicts.
The current economic climate has caused a downward trend in the industry but despite this we are growing from strength to strength. We put this down to our original core ethos of making our whisky affordable and available to those who enjoy whisky as much as we do.
Our team is dedicated to quality, sustainability, and innovation. This has led to the distillery and our team receiving numerous awards across those categories from several organisations over this past decade. We also owe our phenomenal customers a huge thank you. Without you we simply wouldn't be the distillery we are today. Thank you.
As we look ahead to the future, we will remain steadfast in our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and of course excellent quality of liquid.
Here's to the next ten years of success and exceptional whisky!
