Introducing the AD/ Sauternes Release, Peated
After the incredible response to our previous unpeated Sauternes expression, we’ve listened to your requests – and here it is: the AD/ Sauternes Release, Peated. This limited-edition bottling marries our 100% peated spirit with the opulence of Sauternes casks, creating a truly distinctive Ardnamurchan experience.
From a batch of just 8,460 bottles, 29 ex-Bourbon casks (aged for three years) were carefully re-racked into ex-Sauternes barriques for an additional three and a half years, resulting in a whisky of extraordinary character. Bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill filtered, and natural in colour (as with all of our whiskies), this release won’t be collecting dust on shelves.
On the nose, this dram is alive with lime leaf, lemon balm, shortbread, and hay bales, evolving into pineapple upside-down cake, desiccated coconut, and a whisper of stem ginger syrup. The palate brings layers of nutmeg, smoked manuka honey, and lemon meringue pie, rounded by salted cashew nuts and a hint of earthy smoke. The finish? Spicy, punchy, and bright – a decadent dram that lingers long after the last sip.
