AD/ The Midgie Release
The Ardnamurchan Midgie has been crafted to honour Scotland’s most infamous creature the Highland Midge.
This year’s release is a vatting of 34% ex-American bourbon barrels, 49% Ruby Port Barriques and 17% Tawny port casks. It's a split of approximately 70% unpeated spirit and 30% peated spirit.
Nose: Red raspberry, golden syrup, freshly cut cedar, crème de violette, home baked soft almond biscuits, preserved Moroccan lemons in salt brine, lightly smoked Christmas spiced ham.
Palate: Gentle cigar smoke, bramble, lemon thyme, pink peppercorn, piri piri spice, syrup of figs, plum clafoutis, nutmeg.
Finish: Bitter orange, juicy, sea salt, persistently persistent.
This whisky is bottled at 48% ABV.
Like all our whiskies this Midgie release is un-chill filtered and natural colour.
